Welcome!

Welcome to my blog!

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Dustin Anne Thiessen, better known as Dusty. I live in Langley, British Columbia, where I am a professional dressage rider and trainer.

As of February 8th, 2010, I will be departing on a European adventure with my very dear friend and fellow rider/trainer, Courtenay Fraser. We will be traveling to Denmark, Sweden, and Germany, in hopes of finding a Grand Prix horse for Courtenay. More specifically we hope to find one of those special animals that shows enough talent for Courtenay to campaign towards her ultimate goal of representing Canada in International competitions, such as the Olympic Games.

While my role on this expedition is primarily as an 'eye on the ground', I thought it would be fun to keep a record of our travels, and report back to our friends in Canada and the U.S.. We will be aided in our search by such renowned trainers as Jan Brink, Evi Strasser, Conrad Schumacher, and Hubertus Schmidt. Needless to say, I am enormously excited at the opportunity to visit these places and meet with several inspiring trainers who are at the pinnacle of our sport.

I hope to update this blog daily, or as time will allow, so stay tuned!

-Dusty Thiessen.
